Real-Time Electronic Orrery

The Solar System,
alive in light.

OrbiKron follows the real positions of all eight planets, turning planetary motion into an illuminated display that changes every day. Press the hidden button for Above Horizon Mode: planets below your local horizon or occluded by the Sun glow deep dark red, while the rest stay at full brightness.

For astronomy enthusiasts who want to see the actual Solar System changing every day.

OrbiKron electronic orrery showing eight planets as colored points of light
OrbiKronPlanetary time

An orrery
without gears.

Instead of mechanical arms, OrbiKron uses 241 colored LEDs and astronomical calculations to place each planet along its orbit around the sun.

Why OrbiKron shows astronomy rather than astrology

All eight planets
Distinct points of colored light show Mercury through Neptune.
Real-time positions
GPS time and NASA-developed calculations keep the display aligned with the actual Solar System.
Above Horizon Mode
Press the hidden button to show planets below your local horizon or occluded by the Sun in deep dark red; the rest stay at full brightness.
Two ways to watch
Real Time follows the present sky; Fast mode reveals planetary motion on a human timescale.
See the planets where they actually are — not where a static model leaves them.

A living view of the Solar System, recalculated every day.
